Truth Tha Truth contacted the Say Their Names Memorial organization.

Trae Tha Truth Rapper turned activist, and philanthropist born and raised in Houston, Texas. A leader, role model, and inspiration to many a name that holds major weight in the city. Many Houston residents best describe Trae as a stand guy, a guy that’s always looking out for the next person, a guy that’s always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the situation.

In the wake of George Floyd, a Houston native and Breonna Taylor both wrongly murdered by the police causing an uproar around the world. Many angry, tired, and heartbroken seeking justice holding protests day and night.

Truth Tha Truth contacted the Say Their Names Memorial organization after coming across a photo of the display in Dallas honoring many Black American victims of police brutality and racial injustice. He knew that he had to bring the concept to his hometown. He knew this would mean a lot to Houstonians and they would want to pay their respects as well.

Mayor Sylvester Turner said, “The installation of the exhibit in Emancipation Park was fitting and powerful. The park was created in 1872 by Jack Yates, a formerly enslaved Baptist minister and his church community as a spot designated for celebrating Juneteenth.”

"Unless we stand up, unless we do more, that memorial will continue to grow," Turner said.

The exhibit will remain on display in Emancipation Park for the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Oct. 13.
